Bilt Rewards Credit Card Review 2023: Earn 1x Points on Rent

The Bilt Rewards credit card is a no annual fee credit card with a very unique value proposition, you earn 1x points on rent without the transaction fee.

For most people, their biggest expense each month is rent and if you're paying rent with a check each month, you're earning no rewards and the cash is taken out of your bank account immediately.

Even if can only pay rent with a check, you can still pay through the Bilt Rewards app and they will send a check on your behalf.

With the Bilt World Elite Mastercard, you'll earn 1x points on your rent and you won't have to pay for this months rent until next month, helping a little bit with your monthly cash flow. Obviously, this isn't a good thing if you aren't able to pay off your Bilt credit card when the statement is due, you'll be charged over 20% interest on your Bilt card balance.

Points earned on your spending:

  • 1x points on rent
  • 3x points on dining
  • 2x points on travel
  • 1x points on all other purchases

Other travel benefits:

  • Trip cancelation and interuption protection.
  • Trip delay reimbursement.
  • Car rental collision damage waiver.
  • No foreign transaction fees.
  • Lyft credits: take 3 rides per month and earn $5 credit.

Other benefits:

  • Cell phone protection: Pay your cell phone bill with your Bilt Mastercard to getup to $800 of protection, after  $25 deductible against covered damage or theft.
  • DashPass: membership free for 3 months. Additionally, both new and existing members get $5 off their first order each month.
  • Build your credit history by paying rent.

One negative of the Bilt World Elite Mastercard is that there's no welcome bonus, with most other credit cards, you can earn a welcome bonus of $200 or more, but given that the card is probably losing money allowing you to earn points on rent, it's understandable that you won't also earn a welcome bonus.
